Many of us spend a great deal of time, pushing, shoving, competing, planning, directing, worrying, running to meet goals, deadlines, strategizing, setting targets. You know the drill. While setting your intention(s) and taking consistent and massive action is necessary; we can eliminate the angst, heartburn, headache and emotional drama by taking time out to “Just Flow”.
It’s amazing how when we allow ourselves to work within the universal flow; the outcomes you seek manifest without stress or strife. Help comes without you asking and from people you wouldn’t have thought of; resources are offered to you; new ideas present themselves; all things seem to come together seamlessly. This is when you are truly in the flow.
Periodically stopping to take a pause break opens me to the universal flow. To place myself in this state only takes me 2-5 minutes. Here’s what I do; hopefully it will help you
(a) focus on my breath;
(b) root myself in the present moment;
(c) become aware of what is happening with my mind, body and spirit;
(d) let go of all mental and physical tension (true relaxation);
(e) appreciate and give thanks for everything, past, present and future;
(f) take in all that surrounds me in the moment through sight, smell, sound and touch.
For just a moment I’ve taken my hands off the wheel (gotten out of my own way) and allowed God to do the work. Upon returning to the work, the flow is with me; I’m smiling, acknowledging my joy, feeling peaceful, calm, tranquil and practicing patience. Oh, and let’s not forget the wonderful health benefits you receive from this practice.
I challenge you to practice taking pause breaks with an intention to “Just Flow”. Work towards creating this new habit daily, how often is up to you. It’s better than taking a pill.
