If you’re a North Jersey small business – or a large one, for that matter – and you haven’t begun to consider a possible way to get in on the Meadowlands Super Bowl week, well, you’re late to the dance. But clearly, there is still time to catch up, which is why “The Conference” is being held at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Hackensack on Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Organizer say the conference is open to “any area business, community or non-profit organization interested in capitalizing on the economic uplift presented by the influx of over 230,000 spectators coming to the region.
”The conference will feature speakers and workshops that provide information and education to help businesses prepare; as well as provide opportunities for attendees to network, learn about regional partnerships and gain insights on how to turn tourists into immediate and long-term customers. “Economic opportunities like this don’t come around very often, so when I learned that our region would be playing host, for the first time ever, to one of the biggest sporting events in the world, I knew I had to make the connections and create an event to ensure that our local and regional businesses would have the tools to maximize and leverage the dollars coming to our region,” said Radia Funna, founder, Build n Blaze, in the release.
Speakers will include journalist Soledad O’Brien; Tracye McDaniel, president of Choose New Jersey; Wayne Hasenbalg, president of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority; and business leaders from the designated impact Huddle Zones – as well as experts in social media, customer service and economic development. Organizers say 10 percent of profits from The Conference will go to the Soledad O’Brien & Brad Raymond Starfish Foundation, which provides young women with a bridge between obstacles and opportunity, by giving them the resources to overcome barriers and reach their highest potential.
