Are you failing due to fear or flying on faith? Recently, I was a panelist at the WeRock 2 program held at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. I made the statement, “No matter what’s taking place or what happens, just stand still and be strong in your space, and don’t allow it to rock you.” When you are pressing forward on an assignment, task, project or contract and nothing appears to be moving or giving way; or perhaps you are not gaining any traction and you’re being met with obstacles and challenges no matter which way you turn; it’s time to be still, breathe and allow your efforts to marinate. Turn your attention to another project or portion of the project and give the Universe room to work on your behalf. That’s when Faith takes over, allowing the resources already in existence the time to align and arrange themselves with your prior efforts. Or, perhaps, it’s a sign from God that you are to move in a different direction. It doesn’t mean your efforts were in vain; remember there is a lesson in everything and besides, you got in some practice that will be needed for the next project or journey.
I have seen so many people ready to give up when they are totally focused on achieving that one goal or completing a project that perhaps wasn’t meant for them. They become rocked by the fear of failure and resist moving forward or attempting anything new. This is all a matter of your thoughts and influence from your feelings. Instead, focus on this being the time to build your GRIT muscle; change your thoughts and change your feelings which are really tied into your EGO (Edging God Out). Life is not meant to be comfortable, easy or simple. Personally, I think that would be boring. When we change how we think about a situation we also change what we see which can allow us to see the opportunities that are all around us.
I choose to seek the lesson and the opportunity in the challenge; fly on faith even if it means falling. At least I’ll fall forward. What about you?
