Where Is the Love?

SUV small car run overSome of you may have seen this post on my Facebook page “It’s Just Plain Common Sense”.

Where is the love, commonsense, decency, attention to others and what in the world are we hurrying to? Yesterday I saw a driver in a large truck or SUV or whatever they are called nearly take out a small car right in front of me. There was a truck in front of the SUV turning left into a driveway or street. Oh no, the SUV driver just couldn’t wait; obviously without looking at the rear and right view mirrors and the right side windows; the driver recklessly yanked the wheel to the right and pulled out to the right (mind you no signal light) nearly smashing into the vehicle in front of me. The small car driver thankfully pulled as far to the right as possible without going up onto the sidewalk and stopped the car. I stopped immediately as I watched the horror unfold. It was an accident about to happen. That was nothing but God saving the driver of that small vehicle. Talk about Jesus taking the wheel!

Honestly people, where are we hurrying to – Death?! There is nothing that important that we disregard all safety, attention to others, common decency and courtesy (do people still remember these words and their meaning?). How about driver courtesy. What with all of the new bells and whistles built into the new cars today (and that SUV looked brand spanking shiny and new); learn to use them; better yet, use the basics; three mirrors and oh yeah, turn your head and look through the windows in the direction your turning to check the blind spot. By the way, that SUV was so high up the driver should have been able to see everything; if they would have turned their neck and head.

Everybody, put on the brakes in your life. Stop, look, pay attention-get off the phones! Focus on one thing at time; you will arrive at your destination when you get there. If you’re late; don’t make other people suffer just because you didn’t prepare and leave on time. The world does not revolve around us – the individual. We are here to serve one another!

I thought I’d share it with you on my blog since so many people have viewed and liked it.
