Awakening!

awakeningAwakening:  I awakened early this morning with my heart and mind filled with the chaos that is taking place in America.  After spending an hour in meditation; I still could not go back to sleep.  I was guided to share some thoughts and I immediately  followed God’s instruction.  I don’t know where this is going or what your take on this message will be but please know that it is coming from Love not Hate. My heart hurts for all of us who are working to be a part of the solution and working to understand this chaos; the loss of values, morals, manners, respect and connection with people; loss of self.
America’s people are in the throes of an Awakening! There have been marches and protests over the years for a variety of causes; however, during the month of January 2017 the hundreds and thousands have now become millions of people who have declared their stance and distress over the new administration, new policies and new realities.  Over the last two weeks there has been a tidal wave of peaceful and issues-driven marches for different causes; including the Women’s March on Washington, the March for Life, the Muslim an protests and more.  People in countries around the world are also marching in solidarity with U.S. marchers and making known their voices about the new administration and its policies. These outcries of social dissent did not just happen; they arrived on the heels of years of anger, outrage, hurt and sorrow.  The American people are filled with hurt, anger, grave loss and lack of emotional security; lack of security and trust in our government; lack of  job security, housing security, financial security, education security and dashed hopes for the future. This lack of security felt even by those who were once part of the top 3% resulting from our 2008 financial crash from which many people have still not recovered which led to the Occupy Movement.   womens-march-on-washington
Let us be cognizant of our Black Americans whose mistrust and distrust of a system that has allowed and condoned the beatings and killings of Black Americans by those who were hired to protect the public; a system that has tried to put down the resulting Black Lives Matter movement.  Hmmm, why is it that despite the numerous movements by other racial groups throughout this country; there has been a consistent and  concerted effort to dismiss and demonize any movement or organization by Black people?  We already know all lives matter; however, the issue is that Black Lives are not being Shown to Matter. Once again it’s the cover up; sweep it under the rug; racism does not exist.  Many Americans who have been lulled into thinking racism does not exist, do not understand the riots which were the by-product of explosive emotional release fueled by racial hatred which has been simmering and overlooked, ignored and covered up by the media, politicians and masses over the years. Many of the younger generation are ill prepared for this having lived in “La La Land” due to their ignorance of what many of us know has been happening all along – racism is alive and well and is rearing its ugly head and roaring loudly. Now; however, they too; the younger generation are Awakening!  Perhaps now in light of the Awakening, people are seeing through the veil; pulling it down and shedding light on it.

Americans are still reeling from school bombings, the 911 bombings, the 2013 Boston marathon bombings; the continued bomb threats not just from those outside of the U.S. but those who reside and are born and raised here in America and who are not Muslim. We are seeing strange crimes being committed; people walking around knifing strangers, pushing people on to train tracks; increased home break-ins; people wearing masks and inciting fear amongst the populace; youth walking up to strangers and punching them and inflicting major damage;  anti-feminism, sex-trade, anti-antisemitic crimes; church shootings, church break-ins and thefts, the list goes on and on.  With so many hate-fueled actions; one may feel we are living in a world of insanity perpetrated by those who have not been declared insane.  What is happening?!!
The good news is the Awakening is permeating and progressing rapidly through the population.  Finally, people are waking up.  People are looking for positive ways to be heard and listened to; to promote change in our public policies and laws, legislators and systems.  There is a lot to change and it takes time; we must remain vigilant and active.
change
America, as always is being watched by the world.  How will we respond?  America – the land of the free???  Really, since when?  Can America live up to the lyrics of its National Anthem – “Land of the free and the home of the brave”;  including all of the diverse racial populations that make up America today?  This Awakening cannot and must not be momentary but rather long-standing.  We can no longer run, hide or bury our heads in the sand. We must each do our part, no matter how small it may seem to us; the ripple effect will create a mighty shift!  What can each of us do to facilitate change for the betterment of ourselves, our neighbors, our society?
While we pray we must take action. While we meditate we must take action.  While we pursue our purpose we must use our gifts and talents to take actions that will create an eventual course correction. We can no longer afford to let up; we must be diligent in keeping our legislators and politicians accountable to all of the people of this land.  We must keep the light of faith, hope, charity, love, peace, creativity, activism, focus, attention, intention, vision, vigilance…… burning without ceasing.
light
The light in me bows to and honors the light in you, Namaste.
